Well, a fall was predicted, it's true, but not one quite so precipitous. As falls go, this was on a par with the day that apple was munched, equivalent to Homer Simpson's repeated crashes down the mountain in the Evel Keneivel skateboarding episode. Just when you think it can't get any worse, it starts all over again. It was a bigger Fall than Mark E Smith ever put together.
We were out-muscled, out-performed, out-played in every area of the park. I don't claim to have swallowed the old 'Sven is a miracle-maker' line, and have had concerns about the lack of depth in the squad, but this was... worse than the wildest imaginings. Never mind. There's always next week.
