Wax lyrical

DSC00537

My friends and I spent a relaxing evening last night. We enjoyed some stimulating conversation and a few drinks in Islington. Then we partook in a new activity, one we had never tried before - wax sculpting. It was fascinating to see how our imaginations complemented each other's ideas and resulted in an interesting work of art.

Well, I'll leave it to you to decide whether what we created actually deserves the term 'art' but in the great tradition of Marcel Duschamps, we say it is, so it is.

Phallic

There were different conditions of the wax as it heated and cooled, which led to some interesting textures.

Spark

You can see the attention to detail from the sculptors' fingers, as they sought to achieve the perfection of form to which their muse had guided them.

I think it's worth taking a closer look at this exhibition of skill.
